What You Need to Know About Ladders
Here is a brief walkthough on ladders. The all-around ladder is the rigid ladder, and it’s often used for many tasks. Rigid ladders come in many varieties - fixed, extension, step, platform step, and roof. The fixed ladder is the simplest of these and has no moving parts. Extension ladders are the type that can be lengthened, since one part is nested in the other for storage. Joined by a hinge at its top, and often forming an inverted V, are step ladders. If you need space to place things like paint cans, you might need a platform ladder, which has a platform at the top. If you need to climb up the roof or do some outdoor house painting, you need a roof ladder, which has a hook at the top, for easy latching on the roof. The preferred material for most ladders, except those used in electrical work is aluminium.
